Milan Splash Pad

Project Overview

Sound the trumpet! The SplashPack Elephant is beckoning kids for watery fun at the Milan Splash Pad. In addition to the spray shower and fan spray experience with the SplashPack Elephant, kids can create a cool and complex helix pattern by twisting the HydroHelix, spray their friends with the disc-shaped WhirlPad or surround themselves with the water tent of the SprayShroud. Plus, a selection of ground sprays throughout the space delivers an open invitation to splash.

[video: screen fades into a focused view of park sign listing the rules of the splash pad. City contact and emergency info is listed on the sign. Scene switches to a focuses view of a boy’s finger resting on a silver button of the splash pad water activation pad. Scene switches to a side view of the splash pad as the water pressure increases and begins to fully stream through the several water activities. Scene switches to a slightly full elevated view of the splash pad. Children run in play in the streaming water from the different play activities. A group of children work together to spin a tall post with a large horizontal circular wheel at the top. As they spin the post water sprays form the many holes on the top wheel creating a cool design. A boy kneels under a water dome spraying from a slightly curved post. Scene switches to three boys as they spin a mushroom shaped water activity. They spin the top of the mushroom head as it vertically sprays water at them from multiple nozzles.]

Boy: You guys are going to get so wet right now.

[video: scene switches to a full elevated view of the community park with children playing on the splash pad. Scene switches to a boy as he talks to the camera about the splash pad.]

Boy: My favorite thing about the center part is that it spins, and you can make a dome of water around you.

[video: camera focuses on the top spinning wheel as it sprays multiples streams of water. Scene switches to a second boy as he talks to the camera about the splash pad.]

Boy 2: I’m ten years old and my favorite thing is how wet it can be and how many other people are here to have fun.

[video: with a top-down view children work together to spin the central post that spins the top wheel of the main water activity of the splash pad. A third boy speaks the camera about the splash pad.]

Boy 3: I love it! The sprinkler here is so cool.

[video: a fourth boy talks to the camera.]

Boy 4: I like the spiny thing because it looks so cool.

Boy 5: I’m eight years old and what I like about the splash pad is the rotating thing. It’s like a giant water bubble.

[video: with a slight full elevated view of the splash pad. Children play at the many different water activities. Camera focuses on a full view of an elephant sculpture in a seated position. Water sprays from the elephant’s trunk while water also fans out from the elephant’s mouth. Camera switches to a view of the back of the head of the elephant showing more of the fanning spray of water from its mouth. The camera zooms in closer to the elephants mouth as it continues to spray water. Scene switches as the camera comes into a focus on a boy as clenches his fists as he walks towards a water dome. He shouts with excitement “Ahhh!” and reaches his hand out to touch the dome shape spraying water. Scene switches to a full elevated view of the Milan splash pad as children play together at the central spinning post activity. Camera switches to a focused side view of a slightly arched post spraying and creating a dome of water. Scene switches to a view across the splash pad as water sprays from the different water activities. The camera focuses on a girl as she kneels under the water dome. She smiles as she stays dry under the falling water around her. The camera pans down the side of a boys body down to his feet as he stands on a ground sprayer. Scene switches to a view across the splash pad focused on a boy as he leans up against the elephant sculpture just underneath the spraying water from the elephant’s mouth. The water falls in slow motion. The boy notices the water pressuring is slowing as the arch of the stream from the elephant’s mouth slowly gets smaller and smaller. He puts his hand to his chest laughing as the last bit of water almost falls on his face. Scene fades to a boy as he spins the mushroom shaped water activity causing the vertical water streams to great and unique design. Scene fades to a toddler age girl as she walks over to a ground sprayer in slow motion. She reaches her hands out to play the spraying water. She smiles excitedly as she walks over the falling water of the water dome nearby. She reaches her hands out to touch the falling water of the water dome. The screen fades to white as blue animated rain drops fall in the center of the screen. As the droplets fall the Aquatix logo appears. The Aquatix logo slides slightly to the left as a black line appears to the right of the logo. A second logo appears on the right reading “Penchura”. A boy can be heard saying “Water, water.” in the background as the screen fades to black and the video ends.]
