Ten years ago, something exciting happened when Aquatix® officially joined the Landscape Structures team. Since then, we’ve been on a journey to create immersive, innovative splash play experiences that help communities cool down, connect and grow through the power of play. But this story didn’t start in 2015. It reaches back nearly four decades to a small water feature company with a big vision.
From Fountains to Fun: The Roots of Aquatix
It all began in 1985 when Greg Stoks, now our director of fountain sales and product innovation, started learning the ropes at his dad’s pool company. Over time, he transitioned into commercial work and eventually purchased CAE—a fountain company with big-name clients like Rainforest Café. That leap into manufacturing brought a steep learning curve, but also opportunity.
Playground companies began to recognize splash play as essential to recreation, and conversations between Aquatic Recreation Company (ARC) and Landscape Structures sparked ideas. Even early Landscape Structures concepts like the Cool Mister were inspired by ARC technology.
What made ARC stand out? Their belief in creating bold, high-impact splash experiences. While others leaned on flow-through systems, ARC pioneered recirculating solutions—delivering 500 to 700 gallons of water per minute, compared to the 100 to 120 GPM typical of domestic systems. The result? Splash pads that felt exciting, immersive and unforgettable.
A Culture Built on Purpose
When ARC officially joined Landscape Structures in 2014, and was renamed Aquatix, we knew it was a perfect cultural match. Both companies believed in purposeful work, thoughtful design and standing behind what we build. Together, we modernized operations, improved order accuracy, and invested in technology—all while honoring the extensive water expertise that defines Aquatix.
In 2020, the team moved from Eden Prairie to Delano, Minn., and integrated systems with the rest of Landscape Structures. With that transition, Aquatix grew into a multidisciplinary division spanning engineering, operations and design. From a handful of passionate innovators to a robust team committed to quality and creativity, Aquatix has never stopped evolving.
Today’s Splash Play, Tomorrow’s Inspiration
Now, Aquatix delivers an array of splash play solutions that are easier to specify, install and enjoy. From signature designs and LED Jumping Jets to HydroLogix® and MecH2O™ mechanical systems, our products balance innovation with practical performance.
