Pavilion Park

Project Overview

This star-studded splash pad at Pavilion Park in Star, Idaho is bursting with water fun and hometown pride. A giant custom FlashFlood, emblazoned with “City of Star, Est. 1997,” randomly dumps buckets of water onto eager visitors below, acting as both a thrilling water feature and a local landmark. Nature-themed water elements bring imaginations to life, like the tall, butterfly-shaped AquaFlier, the flower-shaped FloraSpout, and the soaring DragonFlier. Friendly creatures like the SplashPack Frog and the TotPack Ladybug act as playmates for little ones, while geometric features like the AquaHedra® and Tot Arch spray from above, below, and all around. Ground sprays and interactive features round out the spectrum of water play offerings at this dynamic spray park, and SkyWays® shade provides extra protection from the sun’s heat.

Video features the outdoor Aquatix splash pad by Landscape Structures at Pavilion Park in Star Idaho.

[video: scene fades into an elevated rotating view above a neighborhood park splash pad. Children play in the falling water from a large flood bucket. A man in a black polo shirt speaks to the camera about the splashpad. Blue animated raindrops fall in the bottom left corner of the screen revealing white text that reads Trevor Chadwick, Mayor, City of Star, Idaho.]

Trevor: You know when we got this open in August man the kids were waiting. [chuckles] We had a line. In fact, we opened it up before we even got our parking lot done that’s over here on this side.

[video: elevated view of the entire splash pad filled with playing children. An incomplete dirt lot surrounds the finished splash pad. Camera switches to a full bird’s eye view of the splash pad. A large blue star is stained into the center of the concrete slab of the splash pad.]

Trevor voiceover: Just so the kids can enjoy it this summer. Get them the splash pad is the first thing I want, to make sure the kids are taken care of here in our community.

[video: a line of children takes turns jumping over ground sprayer jets. Children jump and try to dodge the water as it jumps up from the ground. Camera quickly switches back to Trevor as he continues to speak. A father holds his daughter’s hand as they stand near a ladybug figure spraying streams of water out of its back. The girl reaches her hand out to touch the water. A boy and girl crawl under the water spraying from a yellow-arched bar. A girl dances around in front of the yellow-arched bar. A boy jumps over the ladybug figure as it sprays his feet.]

Trevor voiceover: I like the Flash Flood. I love the Flash Flood you know up there. The amount of water that you dump off that. I think that’s great. I know my granddaughter, I brought her out here as the first kid. [chuckles] Playing on it. And she loves it obviously, she’s only a year and a half and she loves the ladybugs and the frogs and stuff so. We got a little bit of everything for every kid out here.

[video: children stand under the Flash Flood as it dumps down a load of water. Camera focuses on the angled acrylic panel that helps disperse the falling water. Three waterdrop shapes of the Aquatix logo are cut out of the center of the panel. Camera pulls back and pans up to the large bucket as it dumps down water. Switch back to Trevor as he continues to speak. Camera pans left to right showing all the different water activities on the splash pad. Two young girls stand by the small yellow arched bar as it gently streams water out from multiple nozzles. Camera quickly switches to the ladybug figure as it sprays multiple streams of water from its back. A girl stands in front of a lime green frog figure almost the size of her as it sprays a fan of water out of its mouth. The girl places her hands in the water. Camera focuses on a curved post with acrylic panels designed like butterfly wings. Two streams of water spray from the end of the post creating the butterfly’s antennas. Switch to a view of a similar post but designed like a dragonfly.]

Trevor: And in reality, we’re all kids. Right?

Trevor voiceover: Even us adults, you know. It’s kind of fun getting out here and playing with the kids in this stuff.

[video: Trevor stands with a group of children in the falling water of the Flash Flood. He walks away sopping wet. Side view of children taking turns jumping over jumping jet ground sprayers. Two water cannon streams collide making a large spray of water. A ground sprayer sprays a speckled fan of water. A child dips their hand into the clear fan stream from the frog figure’s mouth. A kneeling girl puts her hand over a ground sprayer pushing the water down. Scene fades out and back into a boy and girl as they spin the hand wheel of a large navy-blue post. Water droplets fall all around them. Scene fades out and back into a boy as he holds his hands in front of the water spraying from a flower figure. Scene switches to the Flash Flood as it dumps down water in slow motions. Camera focuses on a boy and girl as they stand in the splash zone of the Flash Flood. Water continues to crash down from the Flash Flood in slow motion. A girl holds the camera facing herself as water sprays up and pours back down onto her head. Screen begins to fade to white as blue animated raindrops fall in the center. As the droplets fall the Aquatix logo appears. The Aquatix logo slides slightly to the left as a black line appears to the right of the logo. A second logo appears on the right reading “Sonntag Recreation LLC”. Screen fades to black and video ends.]
