Creekside Park

Project Overview

No kid will emerge dry from the fully immersive, interactive splash play experience at Creekside Park. The central HydraHub2 provides numerous ways to play, climb and get drenched. Gleeful kids can get doused by the dumping bucket above or saturate their friends below, while play features like slides and tunnels offer routes for exploration and motor play. Nearby, several SprayVines are manipulative twisty tubes that kids can shake to spray water in any direction, while a series of RippleRun archways create a tunnel of mist for squealing children to run through. Plentiful ground sprays keep the water fun going with all different spray effects, ensuring that visitors to Creekside Park are in for the soaking of the summer.

Video features the outdoor Aquatix splash pad by Landscape Structures at Creekside Park in Bentonville Arkansas.

[video: screen fades into a close-up of an image plate that reads “Parks and Recreation Bentonville” A large B is in the center of the plate with a star to the right. Scene switches to a splash pad filled with playing children. A large play structure sits in the center of the splash pad as other activities surround the structure. A girl walks under three arched bars that mist water from multiple nozzles. With a view of the bottom of a large green tube slide a girl comes riding down splashing into the catch pool making a splash. Two girls weave through vertical streams of water in the shape of an S towards the large play structure. Scene switches to a man as he talks about the splash pad. Blue animated water droplets fall in the lower right corner, White text appears from the droplets reading “Josh Stacey, Bentonville Parks & Recreation Services Manager, Bentonville, Arkansas”.]

Josh: This is Creekside Park and it’s in the southwest quadrant of our town and it was a much-needed park in this area of town.

Josh voiceover: And when we started designing Creekside Park, we knew we wanted to put a water feature into this park. And citizens kept saying. We want to see something bigger. We were being told we want an epic splash park. We want a destination splash park, not just a run-of-the-mill splash park. So, we went to ACS and said what do you got? And they said guess what we’ve got this in design right now we think it’s going to be perfect. All the eyes always turn to the design and the design did not disappoint. It came into reality, and it’s been such a smash success.

[video: water falls from dump buckets onto the camera lens. A boy crawls through a tunnel under one of the structure’s slides. A boy swings from a handle at the top of the large green slide of the play structure. He pushes himself and rides down the water slide. Scene switches to a full view of children playing all over the play structure with its different slides and other water activities. A boy and girl dance through the misting water of three arched posts. Through a skylight on the green tube slide and girl quickly rides down. Camera switches to a view of the end of the slide as the girl splashes into the catch pool. A group of girls hold their hands out to catch water from colorful posts spraying streams of water out the top. A girl cups her hands over a ground sprayer. She smiles at the camera as she moves her hands up and down. Scene switches to a full view of the play structures as a large dump bucket pours a large amount of water on waiting children below. A child’s bare feet walk up a belted bridge on the play structure. Scene quickly jumps back to Josh as he finishes speaking. A boy runs through multiple streams of water from a ground sprayer as other children ride down slides on the play structure in the background. A boy stands on a step just below two dump buckets. He waits as the large dump bucket overhead sends down a woosh of water. Children run and play all over the play structure. The scene fades to white as blue animated raindrops fall in the center of the screen. As the droplets fall the Aquatix logo appears. The Aquatix logo slides slightly to the left as a black line appears to the right of the logo. A second logo appears on the right reading “ACS playground adventures”. Screen fades to black and the video ends.]
